These quests provide massive chunks of XP to push your stats toward the level 60+:

Strength and
Defense XP. Unlocks the
Rune Platebody. - Olaf’s Quest: Reward: 12,000

Strength XP. Essential for obtaining the

From Level 60+ to 74
Once your quests are done, use these three methods to reach level 74 combat:
Scurrius, the Rat King (Fastest Active XP)

- XP Rate: Up to 100k+ XP per hour.
- Why: Introduced as a mid-level boss, Scurrius gives a massive XP multiplier when you use
Bone mace (crafted from his drops). It is the best way to leveling your combat skills quickly.
Gemstone Crabs (Best AFK)

- XP Rate: 40k–70k XP per hour.
- Why: every 10 minutes. It has no defense, low offensive stats, and effectively infinite hitpoints, making it ideal for AFK combat training, and can be fought in large groups. The only requirement to fight the crab is completion of Children of the Sun in order to access Varlamore., meaning zero downtime between kills.
Gear Progression
At Level 40, you don your first set of rune armor. This is the armor of champions in the free-to-play world, and in members, it’s the platform from which you launch yourself toward true power. This phase is defined by unlocking untradeable, player-earned gear that will serve you for hundreds of hours.
You will transition from a warrior who buys their gear to one who earns it through skill and perseverance. The following table outlines the core upgrades to target.

The Endgame (Level 74+)
Combat Level 74+ signifies your transition into the true mid-to-late game. At this stage, your progression shifts from “skipping” levels with quests to a “rebuild” phase where you unlock powerful high-tier items through specific challenges.
Gear Progression (Level 75–80+)
the priority for your gold and time should be weapons first, jewelry second, and armor last.
- Weaponry:
- Level 70: Switch to the
Abyssal Whip for fast Attack training. - Level 70: Use
Dharok’s Greataxe in the Nightmare Zone for the fastest Strength experience. - Level 75: The
Zombie Axe remains a powerful “all-rounder” for high-defense targets.
- Level 70: Switch to the
- Jewelry & Rings:
Imbued Berserker Ring: A massive priority; use Emir’s Arena (PvP arena) to imbue it quickly for a +8 Strength bonus.
Amulet of Blood Fury: A significant defensive and offensive upgrade over the Amulet of Glory.
- Armor:
Bandos Chestplate &
Bandos Tassets: These remain your standard high-strength setup.
Dragon Boots: Replaces Rune boots at level 60 Defense.
Barrows Armor: Verac’s or Dharok’s are used for specialized bossing and high-XP training.
Where to Level Up
- Scurrius (The Rat King): The most efficient active training method for players around level 60–85 combat. It offers high XP and rewards the “Bone” weaponry that further boosts training rates.
- Sulphur Naguas (Varlamore): Excellent for mid-to-high levels because they provide free potions and high XP rates.
- Slayer: This becomes your primary training method from level 85 combat onwards to unlock profitable bosses like Gargoyles and Kraken.

Remember, efficiency is key, but so is enjoying the climb. Each piece of gear you earn tells a story—of a quest completed, a boss defeated, or a personal challenge overcome. Now, go forth. The next upgrade awaits.
