The Skill Training’s golden rule in OSRS is simple: Quests are the most efficient training method you have. Before you ever chop a tree or mine a rock for experience, know that many quests can grant you thousands, even tens of thousands, of XP in minutes, effectively skipping the slowest early levels. This guide is built on that foundation.
Skip Early Skill Training Levels
Waterfall Quest

Waterfall Quest is the crown jewel of early-game quests. While it involves a journey to the beautiful but dangerous Baxtorian Falls and features fire giants and moss giants, the combat can largely be safespotted. The payoff is monumental .
Why It’s Key: Upon completion, you are granted a whopping 13,750 Attack XP and 13,750 Strength XP. this instantly boosts you to over Level 30 in both Attack and Strength.
Tip: This is a members-only quest, but if you are a member, it should be one of the very first things you do.
Fight Arena & Tree Gnome Village

These two quests form a powerful one-two punch after the Waterfall Quest. Fight Arena pits you against a series of challenging but manageable gladiators, while Tree Gnome Village introduces you to the peaceful gnomes and their struggle, unlocking a fantastic transportation system .
Why It’s Key: Fight Arena grants another 12,175 Attack XP, and Tree Gnome Village gives 11,450 Attack XP . Together, they will push your combat stats firmly into the 40.
Vampyre Slayer & Witch’s Potion

The Local Initiations: For pure free-to-play players or those looking for a simpler start, these two quests are perfect. Vampyre Slayer in Draynor Village is a classic rite of passage, while Witch’s Potion in Rimmington serves as a fun introduction to Magic .
Why It’s Key: Vampyre Slayer gives a solid 4,825 Attack XP boost, and Witch’s Potion provides the first real chunk of Magic XP (325) for many players.
Shadow of the Storm (10,000 XP)

This is the single most important early Ranged quest. It allows you to choose which combat stat receives a 10,000 XP reward lamp (putting the experience reward on Ranged).
Death to the Dorgeshuun

This sneaky quest takes you into the goblin mines beneath Lumbridge. Beside giving you 2,000 Ranged XP, completing this unlocks the Dorgeshuun Crossbow and Bone Bolts. This weapon is the best cheap, fast, early-mid game training weapon.
Horror from the Deep

Upon its completion, the quest rewards the player with 4,662.5 Ranged, 4,662.5 Magic, and 4,662.5 Strength experience, making it an exceptional chunk of levels for multiple combat styles simultaneously.
The Temple of Ikov

To finish this quest normally, the game states you need 40
Ranged because you must equip a
Yew Longbow to shoot and kill a boss named the Fire Warrior of Lesarkus using
Ice Arrows.
You equip Iron Darts or Iron Knives in your weapon slot, and place the
Ice Arrows in your ammo slot. When you attack the Fire Warrior, you will throw the darts/knives, but the game recognizes the Ice Arrows in your inventory/ammo slot and registers the weakness bypass anyway.
By executing this glitch, you bypass the level 40 requirement entirely at level 32, complete the quest, and take the 10,500
Ranged, and 8,000
Fletching XP reward, instantly shooting your account up to 36
Ranged without ever firing a standard arrow.

Final Thoughts
